They do not spin on there own. I was not happy with the quality of these. I returned them.They are super cute. Had them on my bike. Light is hard to turn on when mounted on the handlebar. Not easy to make them squeak with helmet on. So, not super useful as a bike bell/light. The propellers do spin when I go fast on my bike.
