It’s cool and took some timeCheaply made falls apart easilyThe kids loved putting it together and played with it for about a week. It doesn’t do much, so I can’t blame them. Should really be about $15, not $35.I bought this for my four-year-old who loves paw patrol like none other. The directions were easy to read and comprehend but I could not for the life of me get the dog to stay together. She was not being rough with it at all and every time she would touch it the parts would come off. I contemplated gluing it together but it was the moving parts that made that not possible. She was very very upset when i had to finally throw it away because I spent probably 5-6 times a day piecing it back together. I would totally buy it again if the darn thing would actually stay in one piece. The idea is great and its electronic movements of it made it even better.So I was pretty excited to see what this little gizmo would do. Putting it together was fairly easy if you can follow along with the pictures. I wish the numbers on each part were more visible. I couldn't even see the numbers on some of the parts but was able to get it together with the pictures. I wouldn't suggest building it with a younger child until they're at least 7 or 8. My 3 year old quickly lost interest in building because they wanted to play with it now! It doesn't jump very well but can move around and respond to the clapping sound really well like it says it can do. I would've liked to see more different responses than the basic two that I've heard over and over again. I'd say this is a toy better for older kids who won't destroy it within the first month of ownership. An older kid might make it last longer but since it's very basic in what it can do I don't see it holding the attention for a very long time. Would be a good gift for an older child at least 5 or older.My 4 year old daughter got this and would not have been able to put it together. My husband had to do most of it but they did work together. The Skye is cute and can jump. It was good for a bonding experience.Had fun putting it together with my 4 year old. Would've been easier for him to follow along if the numbers on the parts were easier to see. Snapping everything together was pretty easy for an adult.I personally can't imagine a kid older than 5 or 6 wanting to play with this. The product itself doesn't actually work as advertised, as mentioned in other reviews. Some product engineer must've miscalculated some weight distribution because with the size of Chase's head, there's no way he leaps off the ground.I've noticed they must've dropped the price to what I paid, a little less than $30. I would not pay any more than that for this item. If your kid is a big Paw Patrol fan and loves building things like Legos or Magnatiles, this may be right up his/her alley. Fully expect to do the bulk of the work, and for the end result to not work as the box suggests it should. My kid thinks Chase is adorable and loves hearing him bark and repeat his catchphrases, so he's happy. But I'm sure he'll grow bored with it soon and it'll be relegated to the Land of Misfit Toys.This is a great educational toy for a child and would make a great birthday or Christmas present, a great project to add to your home-schooling agenda or idea for a rainy day. It will take the child anywhere from 1/2 hour to an hour to build. I would highly recommend it for older children as it is a challenge for a 4-5 year old to put together. I had my 3.5 year old son help me but it was a challenge for him even with my help. The child with adult supervision learns how their new toy operates and has the joy knowing that they were the one to assemble it. Once assembled the child can decorate with the included stickers to personalize it and make it their own. The completed toy comes with a build certificate that the child can proudly display. Once completed my son played non stop with his new toy and was excited to show daddy.
